By the middle of June the Blackflies are done and this makes camping quite tolerable and more enjoyable .Fishing from boats is one of the main activities and encompasses several options .
Base camp operation involves either a lodge or campsite that we venture out from each day.This option frees up more activity time ie.fishing,by not having to break down and set up camp each day .Besides fishing activities such as foraging ,Bio-Eco,or Photography can be combined to add dimention to your trip. Each day can be tuned to your interest . We also be much less encombered without the wieght or the camping gear .
Vouyage camping operation is a trip with a destination. We travel through a different area each day setting a new campsite each evening . This option tends to be more rigorous and involves a sense of accomplishment upon arrival at the end location. We will touch on most all of the activities mentioned in the Base camp description but will be spending less time lingering at any one spot.
Depending on your skill level and the location we are exploring a variety of vessels can be employed .Most River trips are done with state of the art rafts but canoes and kayaks can be included to allow for individual freedom to fish&explore on your own ,still under the watchful eye of your Guide .
If we are working Lakes or Ponds my cedar rowing canoes have been the pleasure of many client/friends . fishing one on one with your Guide gives you his undivided attention and skills . Typically there will be two persons to a canoe and one per kayak. The rafts can carry up to 5persons and gear .
Motorized "PV" inspected passenger vessels are also an option on bigger Lakes & ponds ,where motors are allowed .The larger of these vessels can accommodate 4 clients & a Guide .
The fishing techniques employed on any of these options can be based on your desire or on the advise of your guide .Everything from flyfishing to downrigging is available and can be outfitted and taught on your trip. You are always welcome to bring your own personal tquipment as well .I am always looking to learn more myself .
I like to share the Biological & Behavioral information about the species we are pursuing or observing as well as the Limnological characteristics of the body of water that we are working. This information has proved to be both interesting and valuable in tuning your skills and broadening your appreciation of our activities.
